Heavy Metal Removal
Excessive levels of heavy metals can be hazardous. A heavy metal has a specific gravity of about 5.0 or greater and is usually poisonous. Wastewater discharge levels of the “heavy metals” arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), lead (Pb), nickel (Ni) and selenium (Se) are all regulated by the EPA.
Challenge:
Heavy metals are difficult to remove without desalination of the entire water stream.
Solution:
The RDI™ Desalination System offers a cost-effective alternative to conventional technologies for treating this water as the system can reduce the heavy metals while economically reducing the overall total dissolved solids (TDS).
